Update 2.80 problems :(
I had a major problem with this update. After the update I reinstalled an older version of SuperSU (2.79) but after got my phone back to work, I noticed that something changed on folder /storage/emulated/0. The directory can be readed with no problems, bu no app can make changes to this folder and subfolders. For example if I try to make a new folder, I got the error "su error: mkdir failed for /storage/emulated/0/test, Permission denied". Also changing permissions on this or subfolders makes nothing. Can anyone please help me?
thank you best regards
Hi Martin, by reinstall, do you mean install stock image (wipe out the whole thing to factory setting) then install SuperSU? Or just reinstalled SuperSU? There could be a possibility that the SU version is no longer 2.79. To check up on this, download any root checker on the market and check what your SU version is. If it is 2.79, it should be fine. If it is 2.80, 2.81, 2.82 etc., use that version of SuperSU.
Hope this solves your problem, good luck!
P.S. Starlord? From Guardians of Galaxy? LOL
I just installed version 2.79 through TWRP to regain root. Then when a stable SuperSU was lately published, I update it via Google Play and updated Binaryes. This is what I have done. I checked the SU version and it is 2.82.
Yes, from there :)
OK, so if your SU version is 2.82 and reinstalled 2.79, there might be a problem. To stick with 2.79 you will have to flash the stock img (which will wipe your phone) and reinstall the 2.79 ZIP via TWRP.
If I understand correctly, I have to wipe my phone and reinstall all applications?!?
If the SU version doesn't match ( say you are on 2.82 but you want to use 2.79), then probably yes. BUT, I would personally recommend asking this issue on XDA-developers.com to Chainfire, the developer of this software. The recent update has some problems and see what he suggest you to do
No, maybe we didn't understand. I really don't care what version is installed on my phone. When last month I updated SuperSU through Google Play to buggy version 2.80, I lost root. To fix that, I installed 2.79 through TWRP and gained back the root. Then I updated to version 2.82 through Google Play, but yesterday discovered the problem with permissions on storage/emulated/0.
thank you for help

I did it. If anyone will have similar problem. What I did was executing this command in Terminal emulator: restorecon -v -R /data/media under su privileges.
thank you all for help
Wow thanks a lot for that info! It works!
