Cyanogenmod13 and SuperSU?
I'm running Cyanogenmod 13 (a custom ROM) on my Samsung Galaxy SII (i9100).
Cyanogenmod has root capabilities built-in. When I install SuperSU from Google Play and run it, I get the "SU Binary occupied" error message.
I rebooted into recovery mode (TWRP), and tried to install the flashable ZIP file (SuperSU-v2.82-201705271822.zip). But I get the error message below:
- Extracting ramdisk
--- Failure, aborting
I've tried doing a factory reset (before root access is enabled in CM13) then installing the ZIP, but I get the same error. Same thing if I use the previous version (v2.79).
Is it even possible to use SuperSU with Cyanogenmod?
Any tips would be greatly appreciated! :-)
@esuhl Hi esuhl, in case of compatibility, SuperSU can work with Cyanogenmod. But ever since Cyanogen switched to Superuser, there has been reported glitches. Have you tried their newer Lineage ROM? Chainfire has cooperated with Alex on the compatibility issues
Hi & thanks. I've just installed LineageOS, but I get the same ramdisk errors when trying to install the ZIP file via TWRP.
If I install and run SuperSU from the app store, I now get the message "Root undetected".
I'm getting tired now, so I'll have another look tomorrow. Thanks again! :-)
Yup it may get frustrated. If SuperSU doesn't work, try magisk then, magisk can also do some SU management
